Distraction Burglaries

Please be aware of the increase in Distraction Burglaries.

Recently two unknown males, tried to enter a property stating that an Iphone was mapping at that address.

What I'd do now.

Don't let them into the property if they return.

Keep doors locked, even when you're at home.

Don't hand over a phone, computer or other device for them to “check”

If they return, don't confront them. If you feel threatened or they're trying to enter, call 999.

If they've already left, report the incident to Staffordshire Police via 101/online reporting, particularly if you have descriptions, vehicle details, CCTV or a doorbell recording.

Tell nearby neighbours, especially elderly or vulnerable residents, so they can be alert.
